Poor Smitts. Edmonton will miss him......for two years, until he comes back as an unrestricted free agent.
The players you mentioned left Edmonton because the Oilers could not afford them, or because they are simply douchebags. I don't see a good reason for Smyth leaving, other than Lowe and Meehan being stubborn buggers over $100k. It should not have happened. You will know what it feels like when the Flames trade Iginla next year.
